Cutting of foundations in Western & Southern boundary walls continued. (Along foundation stone)
Roof painting at Bodhi Ghara 80% completed. Varnishing of timber underneath the Bodhi Ghara roof 20% completed.
Filler, second coat, completed in ground & 1st Floors
Cleaning of wire cut brick walls in Maluwa area 35% completed

Wire cut Brick wall around the Bodhi Ghara cleaned of dust cement particles & etc.
Chipping along the front steps completed.
Site clearing completed inside the temple premises & started clearing flower beds around the complex.

Roof clearing started at Bodhi Ghara. 75% done
50% Lower Maluwa cleared
Deep well dug to a depth of 165 ft
Part of the required Green Marble brought to site

Strike continued. Not even a motorcycle was allowed to come out of Bhairahawa
Cleaning of Left wing Started. Ground & 1st floors cleaning completed
Employed 02 Labourers for clearing Lower Maluwa and 02 from the Temple. 25% done.
Digging the deep well continued. 125 ft dug.
Part of paint was brought to site by a Rickshaw.

The strike continued for the Third day.
The digging of the deep well started with the chanting of Seth Pirith by the Ven. Dr. Rambukwelle Chandrarathana Thero.
Clearing of the Site continued.
The Painters came to the site, inspected and informed that they will be commencing the work on 11th.

The Sri Lankan delegates excluding working committee left to Sri Lanka via Saunali Boarder, India.
Strike continued and The Sri Lankan Ambassador & the First Secretary Mr. Sisira Kothalawala also held up till about 5.30 in the afternoon.

The Sri Lankan Ambassador and the Delegates inspected the Sri Lanka Pilgrims Rest at Lumbini. Most of the Water supply & Electrical fitting of the building were missing. Our delegates inspected Crystal Hotel which is one of the previous works of the contractor and were satisfied with the work
Inspected the Thai Bridge as we may have to construct a bridge to provide easy access to Sri Lankan Monastery from the main road.
Joint measurements were taken to prepare the fresh estimate.

Contractor’s party was met at 9.30am at Lumbini Hokke Hotel.
Mr. Karunasena Hettiarachchi briefed the contractors about the work which is to be done to a very tight schedule.
Requested the contractor to submit a fresh estimate with the new rates on 7th February 2009
